Commerce Roundtable lands in San Diego on September 21 and 22 at Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier, and we will be there for both days.
If you are going, we would genuinely like to meet you. Not in a booth-and-badge-scan way — we do not have a booth. Just a conversation about what is working and what is not.
We are selective about events. Most commerce conferences are a trade show with a keynote attached, and the ratio of vendors to operators makes real conversation hard. Commerce Roundtable deliberately weights the room toward brand leaders rather than sponsors, which is the whole reason it is worth the flight.
The format also helps — workshops and live sessions on the water rather than a windowless hall, across two days with enough room to actually talk to people.
Anything, honestly. But we are especially interested in a few things right now.
Operators cutting their software stack. We have been replacing rented tools with things we build ourselves, and we would like to compare notes with anyone doing the same. What did you kill, what did you keep, and what did you regret killing.
Founders thinking about a sale in the next eighteen months. Not a pitch. If you are anywhere near that decision, the most useful thing is usually an honest read on what your business actually looks like to a buyer, and what would move the number. We are happy to give that away over a drink with no expectation attached.
Anyone who has made price work. Price is the least-tested lever in consumer and we want to hear from people who have run real tests.
If you are weighing a sale, the most valuable conversation is usually the one that happens a year before you are ready — not the one that happens when you need it.
The easiest thing is to reach out before the event so we can actually put a time down rather than hoping to collide in a hallway. Use the contact page and mention San Diego, and it will come straight to someone who runs the company.
If you are further along and want to talk specifics about selling, start at Sell Your Brand. Every conversation is confidential and none of them obligate you to anything.
Event details per Commerce Roundtable’s published 2026 schedule at time of writing. Confirm dates and venue on the organiser’s site before travelling.
We talk to founders at every stage — long before they're ready to sell.
